Assumptions and sources
The calculator provides an indicative price, not a quote. It is based on the editorially reviewed price guides for a removal crew (CHF 150 – 250 per hour, 2 people with a van) and for end-of-tenancy cleaning of a 3.5-room apartment (CHF 600 – 1'500). Assumptions by the Offrendo editorial team: around 0.3 m³ of household goods per m² of living space or 9 m³ per room; 0.22 hours of labour per m³ plus 1 hour of set-up time; travel time at 50 km/h for the outward and return journey, plus CHF 1.50 – 2.50 per kilometre from 50 km; 8% more labour per floor without a lift; packing CHF 10 – 18 per m³ incl. materials, unpacking CHF 6 – 12 per m³; cleaning scales with the number of rooms; 8% surcharge in the cantons of Zurich, Geneva, Basel-Stadt, Zug and Vaud; 10 – 25% surcharge at the end of the month or on the official moving date. Why are moves at the end of the month more expensive?
Around the official moving dates and month ends, moving companies are fully booked and charge surcharges of 10 – 25%. A midweek move in the middle of the month is the cheapest.
